No, all Saint Louis Closet Co. systems are designed, engineered, and manufactured to be safe floor-based systems.  All the vertical panels sit on your floor (just like furniture), therefore the weight of the shelving and your clothes is supported by your floor and not suspended from the wall.  All Saint Louis Closet Co. systems are attached to your wall for security.

Yes, 100% of our materials and systems are manufactured in our 20,000 square foot manufacturing factory in Maplewood, Mo.  We do not sell pre-made parts, therefore your closet system is truly custom and we can design anything to fit any space.

Yes, Saint Louis Closet Co. was founded in 1991 by St. Louis native and Kirkwood High School Graduate Jennifer Quinn Williams.  She still owns and operates 100% of the company.

No, actually the opposite!  Since we manufacture everything 100% custom we can work with any space, large or small.  Sometimes it’s the smallest of closets that benefit from a custom closet system.  Saint Louis Closet Co. custom closets can be as simple or elaborate as you wish—basic shelves and hanging to crown moldings, doors and drawers, pull-out rods and belt and tie racks.

Absolutely!  Due to the changing sizes and needs of growing kids and their growing collections of stuff, what’s really needed are closet systems that are fully adjustable to grow with their needs. Specially designed accessories such as telescoping rods, baskets, and drawer dividers all help babies, toddlers, and teens “clean up their room.” A floor-based system provides the most versatility. Vertical panels all rest on the floor, so the child can have shelves on the bottom or hanging. This adjustability also makes changing a child’s closet a breeze.

Yes we do!  Saint Louis Closet Co. specializes in creating elegant yet functional Murphy beds that can be customized even further by installing matching shelving or even a desk.  This way, these rooms have the most efficient use of space possible, which is something everyone needs, no matter the size of their home or room.  Our Murphy Beds come in both Queen and Twin sizes and they include the mattress.

Unfortunately we don’t do anything with wire shelving, although we’d be happy to give you a quote to replace the wire shelving with a sturdier floor-based system made of ¾” thermal fused laminate (TFL).

Yes!  We’d be happy to look up your original designs and manufacture whatever parts you want to add.  Swapping out shelves and rods is the easiest, and often doesn’t even require any tools.  We keep all files from every customer for over 32 years so we can easily look up your designs.

No, we frequently do work in schools and commercial spaces.  We’ve done lockers for employees, mailrooms for teachers, desks for office spaces, and shelving for retail displays.  All our estimates are free of charge, so feel free to call and we can give you an estimate for your business or school.

We sell gift certificates in any dollar amount!  Sometimes gift-givers have a specific budget in mind, and other times it may make sense to talk to one of our designers to find out the approximate cost for a project you’re envisioning.  Gift certificates are a great way to give someone a closet, but still let them participate in the design process, to make sure they get exactly what they want and need. Call us for more information 314-781-9000.

Most of the time, we’ll remove your existing shelving during the installation of your brand new organizational system.  If you’d prefer to have your existing shelving removed a few days before your installation, we can certainly do that instead, for an additional charge.  Having your closet shelving removed ahead of time gives you the opportunity to do any necessary wall repair, lay new flooring, or just put up a fresh coat of paint.

Yes!  The first thing our installers do when they arrive at your house is to remove your existing shelving.  They will spackle any holes in the wall and bring your old shelving back to our shop to be disposed of.  Please let us know if you’d prefer to keep the material we remove from your closet!  Also please note, we do not paint, so if you’re interested in painting please inquire about our pre-tear-out process.

We do not paint, although we will spackle any holes created when we remove your existing shelving.  Depending on what you had in the closet, you may need to do some touch-up painting after our installation.  If you’d like the chance to put a fresh coat of paint on your walls, your best option is to have the existing closet shelving removed a few days before your installation.

Our units do not come with backing unless you order separately.  For the majority of our installations, the walls serve as the back of the unit.

All of our installers are our full-time employees, and are fully bonded and insured.

We do not subcontract out any of our work.  All of our installers are our full-time employees.

Yes, as an alternative to an in-home consultation, we offer virtual consultations.  Our designers can chat with you over the phone, by email, or on FaceTime to collect all the information they’ll need to give you a design and price.  Call us at 314-781-9000 to get started.

One of our designers will meet you at your home for a free, no-obligation design consultation.  They’ll measure your closet or area you want organized and talk through your organizational needs.  They’ll either sit down and design your closet for you right on the spot time permitting or take your dimensions and send you your designs within the next day or two.  Allow about an hour for a design consultation.

We are 100% committed to floor-based closet systems.  Compared to wall-hung shelving, a floor-based organization system resting on your floor is safer, studier, and gives you more flexibility to make adjustments or additions in the future.
